Lots of action! Spanish showing strong!
Hello everybody! The water has warmed up and the fish are responding well!
The spanish mackerel showed up in force last week, good mixed sizes from 3-5lbers and a lot of fish in the good eating size range from 14″ to 16″. Mixed in with the spanish are the ever present bluefish which are running 1-3 lbs as well as a few 6-10lb chopper blues here and there. Heard another boat today got a spanish eaten off by a barracuda and boats have been reporting seeing cobia around so there are good signs around for the next few weeks.
Inshore we have had a few mixed bag trips for the kids and they had a blast! On these trips we just go after whatever is biting and usually wind up with some fish for the table and a lot of action!
