More fishing for Topsail Fishing Charters!
Well me and Captain John were both able to get out this week and show a few anglers some fun fishing, we had an unprecedented 4 days in a row of pretty weather in March! I fished with my people on Sunday, we fished in the 8-12 mile range. Plenty of fish were caught, sea bass, spiny dogfish, and ring tails, water temperature was a balmy 50 degrees. We had non-stop action but the sea bass were not as large as we had seen on our last trip to the same area, speaking with other people we heard the same news and plan to fish a little further off on our next trip that the weather permits.
Captain John took a few guys on a private guide trip to the break and they had a real fun day. Captain John reports a slow troll bite and did not even try, deciding to concentrate on deep jigging, and it was a good decision. His group had amberjacks, sea bass, pinkies, and a bunch of other assorted bottom fish that provided a full day of excitement and some meat for the table.
There are still red drum to be caught along the beach by “reverse” surf fishing, the fish have been fished hard but small schools with less battle scars are still to be found.

Tight lines,
